1. The Aurora Borealis

The Aurora Borealis (or Northern Lights) is the name of an awe-inspiring natural phenomenon that can only be seen in the northern regions. The best countries to go and spot this beautiful spectacle are Canada, Alaska, Greenland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden and Finland. The best time to go and see this all-natural light show is September and October or March and April.

2. The Galapagos Islands

These are the islands that inspired Charles Darwin to write his masterpiece “The Origin Of Species” and forever change history and the way we think. Because of the isolation, the animals on the Galapagos evolved totally different than their ancestors did in South America. Because of this, a lot of Galapagos species can only be found on the islands. The added bonus of the islands is that, because the animals were never hunted, they are not afraid of humans so you can get really close.

3. The Grand Canyon

This natural wonder in the US state of Arizona took over a billion years to get to what it looks like now. The size of the canyon is something you have to see to believe. This natural wonder is definitely something you should have seen and experienced at least once in your life.

4. Greenland’s Icebergs and Glaciers

Go and see these wonderful landscapes before climate change completely melts them. The raw beauty of the icebergs and glaciers and the extremely blue color of the compressed snow is a beautiful spectacle not to be missed. Greenland also has an abundance of wildlife that is worth looking at.

5. The Iguazu Falls

This beautiful set of waterfalls on the border of Brazil and Argentina is about the height of a 24 story building and cascades down a few steps before hitting the bottom of the falls. If you like the Niagara falls, then this will completely blow you away.

6. The Serengeti Migration

In this migration over a million animals trek the Serengeti migration route, looking for fresh green pastures. The chances of seeing the big 5 during these migrations are pretty big and witnessing all these animals trekking together is a sight you will never forget.

7. Mount Everest

Mount Everest is the highest, 29,015ft, and most talked about mountain on Earth. It lies on the border of China and Nepal. The mountain is still growing by a few millimeters per year and attracts many climbers that want to summit this roof of the world.

8. The Ngorongoro Crater

This national park in Tanzania is located on a massive round plain that was created when an old volcano collapsed. Now it is a brilliant place to go on safari and see many of Africa’s big animals in stunning surroundings.

9. The Great Barrier reef

This mother of all reefs fringes the northeast coast of the continent of Australia. The Great Barrier Reef is a true Mecca for divers and snorkelers, as it has beautiful coral and millions of species of tropical fish.

10. The Victoria Falls

If you liked the beautiful Iguazu Falls, then you won’t want to miss the sight of the Victoria Falls. They are located on the border of Zimbabwe and Zambia and offer a beautiful African experience.
