Sydney is a major city in Australia, the capital of the state of New South Wales. It is situated on Port Jackson, a waterway that includes the famous Sydney Harbour. It has over 4.2 million inhabitants and known as ‘The Harbor City’ because of its great harbor. It’s the oldest, largest and most cosmopolitan city of Australia. The city became even more famous after the 2000 Olympic Games, when Sydney hosted this event. Another important landmark is the Sydney Harbour Bridge, which connects the city harbor to North Sydney. It is even possible to climb the arch of the bridge! It offers restaurants, shopping facilities, interesting museums and wildlife parks. Amongst others the Powerhouse Museum, the Australia National Maritime Museum, Sydney Aquarium and Sydney Wildlife Park are to be found at this entertaining harbor area. But the city has many more museums in other areas that you can visit, such as the Australian Museum, the Museum of Sydney, the Sydney Jewish Museum, the Hyde Park Barracks Museum and the Museum of Contemporary Art (MCA). Sydney's natural harbor is located close to Darling Harbour, called the Sydney Harbour. It’s a great harbor; a lively spot with at its centre the Circular Quay. Many islands can be visited by ferries and boat cruises, starting and ending at Circular Quay in Sydney Harbour.

Besides the aquarium and wildlife park at Darling Harbour, Sydney has much more to offer animal lovers. Taronga Zoois Sydney’s Zoo, one of the most beautiful zoos in the world. It’s located on an island, just 5 minutes by ferry from the harbor. As the zoo is built on a hill, it will give you amazing views of Sydney while visiting the many extraordinary animals. The Central Business District is the financial and governmental heart of the city, also home to many cultural and tourist attractions.
